Met de acquisitie van Provision Networks door Quest Software kreeg Quest de beschikking over een end-to-end virtualisatie-oplossing. Dit heeft geresulteerd in de eerste desktop virtualisatie-oplossing op basis van Microsoft’s Hyper-V aan de server-zijde. Deze “Virtual Access Suite versie 5.10” werkt samen met de application streaming oplossing van Microsoft (“Microsoft Application Streaming”, het vroegere SoftGrid). Robert Roos van ROC West-Brabant meldt dat ze graag bereid zijn om hun huidige Quest omgeving te migreren naar deze nieuwe VDI oplossing:
We have embarked on a presentation virtualization project and are deploying the Enterprise Edition of the Virtual Access Suite to manage 5,500 concurrent desktop sessions. We are happy to be able to leverage our existing investment with Provision Networks to roll out our virtual desktop infrastructure on Hyper-V. Having this single desktop management framework support both our VDI and terminal services infrastructures is crucial.
